What is a Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump and How Does It Work?
A liquid ring vacuum pump is a type of rotary positive-displacement pump that creates a vacuum by using a rotating impeller and a cylindrical casing with an eccentric bore, which is partially filled with liquid. As the impeller rotates, the liquid creates a ring around the impeller, which sucks in gases from the suction port and then compresses them using the rotating impeller. The compressed gases are then expelled out through the discharge port. They are mostly used in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries for their simple design and versatility.
